What is CBD and how does it work?
Hemp and marijuana both refer to the cannabis plant. Marijuana is a term used to describe the drug variety of cannabis as it contains high levels of THC, which has psychoactive properties. Hemp has high levels of CBD and very little THC.
What’s the difference between THC & CBD?
Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and Cannabidiol (CBD) are the two primary cannabinoids that occur naturally in the cannabis plant. CBD is non-intoxicating, meaning that it does not change the state of mind of the person using it. THC is the main psychoactive component of the cannabis plant and is known to give you a mind altering ‘high’ among many other things.
Do our bodies produce their own cannabinoids?
Yes, they're called endocannabinoids, and they form part of the complex cell-signalling system referred to as the endocannabinoid system.
What is the endocannabinoid system?
The endocannabinoid system is a complex cell-signalling system discovered by scientists in the early 1990s. ****It’s responsible for regulating the biological functions of your body such as pleasure, pain, sleep, appetite, mood, memory, fertility, pregnancy and pre/post-natal development. Its goal is to make sure all these biological functions are in balance. The endocannabinoid system balances your biology by using human cannabinoids to pass on messages to receptors, which in turn will adjust accordingly in order to harmonise your body.
Will CBD make me feel ‘high?’
No. Our products are derived from hemp and contain less than 0.1% THC, the psychoactive substance associated with marijuana which can make you feel ‘high’. We more than meet the UK legal requirement for acceptable levels of THC.
Will CBD make me fail a drug test?
CBD is considered to be undetectable in saliva or urine tests.
Are your hemp extracts safe? What are the potential side effects?
We rigorously test every batch for any contaminants, pesticides, solvents or heavy metals and each report is available to you as a Certificate of Analysis. Here you can see the quantity of CBD present, as well as any other cannabinoids such as THC (which must be under 0.2% according to UK law), CBN and CBG. Some reported side effects may include a dry mouth or drowsiness. Therefore we recommend you begin with a lower dosage, giving your body time to adjust to it before increasing the amount of CBD you take.
What’s the difference between CBD Isolate and CBD Distillate?
CBD isolate is highly refined to contain only CBD. CBD distillate is a whole plant extract that includes a wide range of beneficial cannabinoids.
