As COVID-19 sweeps across the country, people are beginning to pay closer attention to the natural properties of cannabinoids such as CBD.

The COVID-19 pandemic has been sweeping across the globe for over twelve months now. Even after initial shutdowns and border closures reduced the overall rate of infection, the virus has surged back to record numbers worldwide as immunizations are rolled out in a variety of different countries.

Anxiety is a serious mental health condition which affects millions of Americans every year and has a series flow-on effect into people’s personal and professional lives. As the current COVID-19 pandemic has swept across the country and worldwide, the amount of stress and anxiety people are dealing with has increased dramatically. 

Stress is a healthy and essential emotion that we need. However, when we are experiencing high levels of stress for prolonged periods of time, it can turn into anxiety. Over 40 million Americans are dealing with stress every year.

The Versatility of CBD 

One of the greatest things about CBD is that it’s extremely versatile. There are a variety of different delivery methods available to choose from depending on what condition you have and what your personal preferences are. 

There are various CBD products, including CBD oils, CBD tinctures, CBD e-liquids, CBD edibles, and CBD topicals and balms. Each of the different delivery methods comes with its own advantages and disadvantages. For example, CBD oils and CBD edibles are slow-acting but long release as the CBD needs to be broken down in the digestive system before being distributed throughout the body. 

On the other hand, CBD e-liquids are fast-acting, but the effects won’t last as long as edibles and oils. When you inhale CBD e-liquid, the CBD enters the bloodstream directly through the thin tissue in the lungs. This rapid distribution means the effects are felt much faster, but it will require consistent dosage throughout the day. 

If you have sore or aching muscles or joints, then external CBD applications such as CBD topicals and creams are the best option. The CBD is absorbed through the skin, where it interacts with the receptors in the ECS. It’s a great way to treat localised pain and inflammation.

While there haven’t been many scientific breakthroughs in CBD and COVID-19, we do know that there are various ways that CBD can be used to increase overall health and wellness. The versatility of CBD means that it’s quite simple and easy to incorporate into your daily wellness routines. 

CBD oil can be added to your breakfast smoothie or shake, or CBD products can be taken directly throughout the day as required.
